We ought not to be ashamed of appreciating the truth and of acquiring it wherever it comes from, even if it comes from peoples distant and nations different from us. For the seeker of truth nothing takes precedence over the truth, and there is no disparagement of the truth, nor belittling either of him who speaks it or of him who conveys it. When you pronounce any action or character to be vicious, you mean nothing, but that from the constitution of your nature you have a feeling or sentiment of blame from the contemplation of it. This body, which at the same time exposes me to my environment and allows me to grasp it, is more myself than it is mine: it betrays me as much as it reveals me.
