Columbia University Summer Immersion暑期沉浸项目是哥伦比亚大学旗下为高中生和大一新生准备的学术型夏校，时长分三周和一周两种。哥伦比亚大学（Columbia University），简称为哥大。八大常春藤盟校之一，2018年US News 排名第5，是一所位于美国纽约曼哈顿的世界顶级的私立研究型大学。Summer Immersion暑期沉浸项目根据不时长不同地区共分3个项目，分别针对不同年级的学生：

• New York City纽约地区：3周项目，共有两个Sessions，针对进入grades 11-12在校学生及秋季即将成为大一新生

• Barcelona巴萨罗那：3周项目，针对进入grades 11-12在校学生以及秋季即将成为大一新生
  • 由哥大与 University of Barcelona巴塞罗那大学合作的项目。巴塞罗那大学与1450年成立，是Catalonia地区最古老的学校，也是西班牙第二大的大学。在巴塞罗那大学的三周时间里，学生将由机会全面感受巴塞罗那的历史、艺术、城市发展以及语言，帮助他们加深对对欧洲共同体如何发展地方、区域、国家和国际身份的理解。学生们除了在课堂上跟着巴塞罗那大学的教授学习外，还将有机会进入城市本身，浏览重要景点等。

整个Summer Immersion哥大沉浸式夏校比较适合刚上高中的同学们，没有学业的紧张和考试的压力，可以尽情的享受名校的教育资源，体验美国的教育和文化，也能在夏校的学习中提升自己的背景实力，更重要的是，你可以在夏校过程中发现自己感兴趣的学科方向，为将来的申请做出合理的计划和准备。俗话说的好，只有经历了才知道适合不适合自己！

Barcelona巴萨罗那

所有选择Barcelona巴萨罗那校区的学生，都必须参加以下四门课程，课程为英语授课：

• Barcelona in Historical Context:Roman Origins to the Spanish Civil War：教师将在西班牙和欧洲的背景下，通过参观考古发掘、博物馆、宫殿、纪念碑和房屋 等帮助学生对欧洲城市的发展尤其是这座城市有更多的了解。每周课时三个半小时，课程研究的课题包括:

• Barcelona巴萨罗那：7月1日-7月21日（预计）

1. 针对9-12年级在校学生以及大一新生，入营满16周岁可住宿，满15周岁经批准可住宿
2. 对申请学生没有GPA的最低要求，但是需要学生具备必要的学术背景和能力及学习的积极性
3. 部分学生可能会被抽取面试
4. 对于国际学生没有语言标化成绩的硬性提交要求，但是要求语言能力TOEFL不低于90分IELTS不低于6.5分
5. 国际学生签证：由于项目并不提供学分及学术证书所以不提供学生签证，不过前期学生以旅游B签证参加项目
6. 申请材料
   • 在线填写申请表
   • 申请费：80美金(1月17日之前提交申请的免申请费）
   • 初中和高中所有已有的在校成绩
     • 在提交网上申请时可以使用分官方成绩单，但是后续招生办可能会要求提供官方成绩单
     • 成绩单需为英文，国际学生需要提供官方翻译
     • 如果成绩单不是按照美国评分标准的学生需要提供grading key
   • Personal Essay个人文书
   • Behavioral Standards Consent Form
   • 两封推荐信
     1. 第一封：来自guidance counselor，principal或者headmaster的推荐信，指明学生的intellectual ability心智，level of maturity成熟度，和motivation积极性
     2. 第二封：根据不同的年级有不同的要求
        • Rising Juniors and Seniors：推荐信需要来自学生申请课程最相关领域且教过你的老师（必须为学生在校老师），内容包含学生对该领域的了解程度以及学习能力等
        • Rising Freshmen and Sophomores：推荐信需要来自对学生学习非常了解的老师（必须为学生在校老师），内容包含学生学术天赋以及潜力
   • 写作样品（仅针对需要申请creative writing相关课程的学生）
   • 标化成绩：没有硬性要求，如果有建议提供
7. 项目费用预计11,064美金(三周，含食宿）
